Through the haze of political hyperbole, we aim to re-discover cross-cultural connections at the personal level, just as the poet Xu Zhimo did when he visited Cambridge in the 1920s:
"The golden willows of that riverside,
Are brides in the setting sun;
Their glimmering reflections in the water,
Ripple in the depth of my heart."
